National Honor Society for Dance Arts
National Honor Society for Dance Arts™
We envision a nation in which all students have equal opportunity and access to quality dance arts education and are recognized for their outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in the field of dance.
Mission
1.To recognize outstanding artistic merit, leadership, and academic achievement in students studying dance in public and private schools in K-12 education, dance studios, cultural/community centers, performing arts organizations, and post-secondary education.
2.To foster an appreciation for dance as a true art form and one worthy of recognition and prestige.
The national honor society for dance arts, is designed for dance education students, dance educators, and professional dancers to express their devotion to the art form by sharing, recognizing, and promoting dance education within schools and communities.
NHSDA chapters are designated for students in middle school, high school, college/university, and private/community studios. By promoting NHSDA, The National Dance Education Organization recognizes outstanding students and professionals internationally.
The honor society enables students and professionals to advocate for dance evolution by:
- Promoting quality programs in dance educa-
tion and the arts
- Recognizing young and professional choreog
raphers by adjudicating their work through
the Choreographic Evaluation Project
- Providing leadership in dance education by
publishing dance education articles, providing
networking opportunities, and organizing

tors, artists, and students
- Expanding the student vision of dance from
the self to the world by encouraging community service

NHSDA at Studio B
NHSDA at Studio B
We are thrilled to announce that Studio B is now a National Honor Society for Dance Arts™ Chapter! Pledges and inductees will earn society points through dance and their community involvement, as well as maintaining high academic standards. Pledges will earn honor cords for their graduations and will be able to have the honor on all college applications. In an effort to give back to the community, we will be opening this up to ALL dancers in the area who meet the requirements. This is not solely for Studio B members. We are thrilled to be a part of the NHSDA Society and More Than Just Great Dancing™.
